🦊 How Fox Farm Road Got Its Name
In the late 1800s, Silas McGinty had one dream—to breed foxes and sell their valuable fur to high-society buyers in New York City. But his business didn’t go quite as planned…
🔹 The first escape – The foxes chewed through their flimsy enclosure.
🔹 Total farm takeover – They overran the farm, outnumbering chickens, chasing cows, and stealing Silas’s boots.
🔹 Spreading across the countryside – The foxes ran free, leading locals to say, "Just follow the foxes!" when giving directions.
And just like that, Fox Farm Road was born. Some locals even claim that descendants of McGinty’s escapees still roam the area today!
